Falling off the Coupon Wagon

Covered Wagon

Have you wondered where I have been? What I have been doing? Why I haven't been posting lately? Well this is what has been going on since June began.
  • My birthday
  • My daughters 5th birthday
  • Summer Camp (3x's a week)
  • Swim Lessons (4x's a week)
  • Best Friend moving away leads to LOTS of GNO & Going away parties
  • Tball Games (Glad that's over)
  • Dance Recital (This weekend)
  • Tons of fun MOMS Club activities
So with all that going on I have become lazy with my meal planning, not paid super close attention to sales, and even made a trip to Costco to get me through. So now what do you do?

  1. I am going to take a inventory of what I have in my freezer and pantry. This will help me get back on the wagon so I know what I need when the sales start tomorrow.
  2. Menu Plan! I can't stress enough how important menu planning is to staying on track with your budget. I menu plan with what I currently have and grocery shop for future need. This helps make sure that I am getting the items we need at the lowest price possible and helps me stretch my budget as far as I can.
  3. Prioritize. Being a SAHM means doing all the yucky chores that I don't like to do. It also means I get to hang out with my 2 girls all day and do tons of fun stuff. I have been teaching them that everyone in the family has to do their "chores" and we have been working on our daily schedule so we can have fun & do what we need to do.
I would love to hear if you have fallen off the wagon and what you did to get back on track?

Oh heck yes! We are in the process of moving (and moving, and moving, and moving it seems) and I am trying SO HARD to keep to at least a menu plan so we don't end up with take out every night. When I fall of, I just regroup and start over from square one like I did when I started couponing!
